How We Work
How We Complete a Full Bathroom Remodel in 7 Days
Most San Diego contractors take 4 to 6 weeks for a bathroom remodel. We do it in 7 days. Full demo, waterproofing, floor tile, shower tile, vanity, fixtures, and final walkthrough — in one week. Here's exactly how.
Seven days sounds aggressive. Here's why it works.
A standard bathroom remodel involves six to eight distinct trades: demo, waterproofing, tile setting, plumbing, electrical, vanity installation, and finish hardware. In a traditional remodel, each of these trades is scheduled around the contractor's availability across multiple jobs — meaning yours waits while they finish someone else's.
We run one project per crew. Your bathroom gets a dedicated team that doesn't leave until the job is finished. Combined with pre-ordered materials, tight trade sequencing, and every decision resolved before demo day — the construction itself takes exactly as long as it takes to do the work correctly.
That's 7 days. Not because we rush. Because we prepare.
Why Most Bathroom Remodels Take 4–6 Weeks
The construction is fast. The management is what's slow:
Tile is ordered after demo starts
The most common delay in bathroom remodels: tile is selected after the homeowner sees the bare walls and changes their mind. Every order takes 1–3 weeks to arrive. The bathroom sits demolished and idle.
The tile setter isn't available for another week
Tile setters are in high demand in San Diego. A contractor who doesn't pre-schedule them before demo often loses their slot and has to wait. One week of waiting turns into two when the next opening doesn't line up.
Grout cure time is mismanaged
Grout needs time to cure before heavy use, but the actual cure time is hours — not days. Contractors who schedule loosely often leave tile grouted on a Friday and return Monday, adding a full weekend to the timeline unnecessarily.
The vanity arrives damaged or wrong
A vanity ordered after demo starts — or ordered without verifying dimensions — arrives weeks later, often damaged in shipping. The bathroom waits with no countertop while a replacement ships.
Crews are split across multiple jobs
The same scheduling problem that affects kitchen remodels applies to bathrooms. Your job competes with 5–10 others for the same crew's time. Every other job is a reason yours gets paused.
How We Eliminated Every One of Those Delays
Three non-negotiable rules on every project:
Every material is on-site before demo starts.
Tile, vanity, toilet, fixtures, hardware, mirror — all of it confirmed and ready before we touch your bathroom. If anything is backordered or unavailable, we solve it during the pre-construction phase, not after your bathroom is demolished.
One crew, one job.
Your bathroom has a dedicated team from Day 1 to Day 7. The tile setter doesn't disappear to another job between Day 3 and Day 5. The plumber doesn't reschedule because they're behind on another project. Every trade hands off to the next on schedule, without gaps.
Every decision is made before signing.
Tile pattern, grout color, vanity dimensions, fixture finish, mirror size, accessory placement — all of this is finalized and documented before your contract is signed. There are no mid-project material choices that pause the job.
The 7-Day Timeline: Day by Day
Exactly what happens on your project — every single day.
Pre-Construction
Before Demo Begins — The Work That Makes 7 Days Possible
Every tile, vanity, fixture, mirror, and accessory is selected and confirmed for delivery before demo starts. All trades — demo crew, waterproofer, tile setter, plumber, electrician — are scheduled in tight sequence with no gaps. Permits are pulled and approved. Unlike most remodels, nothing is decided mid-job. Every choice that can stop a bathroom remodel in its tracks is resolved before Day 1.
Day 1
Demo & Haul-Away
Full demolition: floor tile removed, wall tile and cement board stripped to studs, vanity removed, toilet pulled, all fixtures and lighting taken out. Full haul-away same day. Subfloor and wall framing are inspected for moisture damage, rot, or mold. Any issues found are documented, photographed, and presented to you before Day 2 — nothing proceeds without your sign-off.
Day 2
Waterproofing & Rough Work
Cement board (Hardiebacker or equivalent) installed on the shower surround and floor. Full waterproofing membrane — RedGard or Schluter Kerdi — applied to the complete shower area. Drain height set precisely to match your new tile thickness. Exhaust fan rough-in if replacing existing. Rough plumbing confirmed — no relocations, all existing valve and drain positions verified.
Day 3
Floor Tile Installation
Floor tile fully set in thinset mortar. Layout is confirmed before the first tile is placed — no surprises at the borders. Shower niche formed, waterproofed, and set. Tile cures overnight. All cuts completed to final dimensions.
Day 4
Shower & Wall Tile
Full shower surround tiled — walls, niche, and all edge trim. Feature wall tiled if in scope. Every cut and corner addressed to a finished standard. Shower bench installed if included. Tile is left to cure.
Day 5
Grout & Vanity Installation
All floor and wall tile grouted — color matched to your selection, joints consistent and clean. Vanity cabinet set and secured to wall studs. Countertop installed and sealed. Mirror or medicine cabinet hung. Light fixture rough-mounted in position.
Day 6
Fixtures & Finish Hardware
Toilet installed and tested. Faucet and shower valve trim kit installed. Shower door or curtain rod hung. Exhaust fan wired, connected, and tested. Lighting installed and tested. Towel bars, toilet paper holder, robe hooks, and all accessories installed at finished height.
Day 7
Final Punch & Walkthrough
All tile transitions caulked — inside corners, tub/shower surround, floor-to-wall joints. Touch-up paint throughout. Final grout haze cleaned from all tile surfaces. Deep clean. We walk every detail with you. Punch list created and completed same day. Your bathroom is ready.

- Toilet replacement
- Shower valve and faucet replacement — fixtures stay in same locations
- New lighting and exhaust fan

Everything San Diego homeowners ask before booking.
Yes. The 7-day schedule is written into your contract with daily milestones. Our On-Time Promise means if we miss a milestone for reasons within our control, you receive a credit toward your project. The pre-construction system we built — all materials ordered, all trades scheduled, all decisions made before Day 1 — is what makes this guarantee possible.
We stop, document it, photograph it, and present options before proceeding. If it's a small patch of water-damaged drywall, we handle it same-day within scope. If it requires work beyond the contract — hidden mold, rotted subfloor joists — we discuss it with you that day and decide together. Nothing unexpected proceeds without your sign-off.
Yes. We apply a full waterproofing membrane (RedGard or Schluter Kerdi) on Day 2, which cures before tile is set on Day 3. This is the same waterproofing standard used on any well-built shower regardless of overall project timeline. Rushing the waterproofing step is never acceptable — we don't do it.
No. Speed comes from preparation and scheduling, not from rushing the work itself. Tile is set at the same pace by the same licensed tile setter. Waterproofing cures for the full required period. Our 2-year craftsmanship warranty covers every 7-day bathroom — the same warranty we put on every project we build.
For like-for-like bathroom remodels — same fixture locations, no plumbing relocation, no structural changes — permits are typically not required in San Diego. If permits are required for your scope, we pull and obtain them before construction starts. We never use a permit issue as a mid-project excuse to pause your job.
Our 7-day bathroom remodels typically range from $15,000 to $40,000 depending on tile selection, vanity, fixtures, and bathroom size. We provide a transparent, line-item proposal before you sign anything — no vague allowances, no surprise charges.
No — the bathroom is fully out of service for the 7 days. We recommend having access to another bathroom in the home. If this is your only bathroom, let us know during the consultation and we'll discuss options, including an accelerated schedule to minimize disruption.
